Stem erect, perennial plant, leaves several, distichous, often alternate above middle of stem, lanceolate or oblong, racemes 2 to several, borne on old stems with leaves and fallen leaves above middle of stem, usually with 1 to 3 flowers, flowers white or white, usually 3-5 months. Born in the trunk of a broad-leaved forest. Up or on the walls of the valley.
